Six Sigma And Web Marketing

Posted by hanun | Uncategorized | Wednesday 26 August 2009 9:46 am

High-end services such as web marketing have acquired great significance in recent years due to the substantial increase in online trade. The overall value of online trade deals has become so large that every online company now wants to grab a piece of the pie. This is why more and more companies are opting for professional web marketing services that help in achieving the above stated objective.

Attracting Eyeballs Through Effective Web Marketing

Web marketing can be defined as a set of processes and procedures that not only help in attracting online visitors, but also motivate visitors to spend relatively more time on the website as compared to the time spend on other competitor websites. Web marketing is certainly beneficial but the problem is that most online companies are using it, making it quite difficult to offer a unique experience to online visitors.

This problem can, however, be resolved by deploying Six Sigma concepts and methodologies that help in defining the exact needs or expectations of online visitors, which in turn helps in designing and developing new websites or making modifications in existing websites. Increasing website traffic may not be the ultimate aim of web marketing initiatives, but is nonetheless helpful because mathematically, it increases the chances that sale volumes will rise. Additionally, it also helps in building a brand name for a website, something that will always be beneficial in the long run, irrespective of whether the website has been able to achieve its sales targets or not.

Converting Visits Into Actual Sales

With the help of advanced Six Sigma statistical tools, online companies can now analyze each and every aspect of their website’s performance such as time spent on individual web pages, links clicked on by visitors, links virtually ignored by visitors, and the visit to sales ratio. Based on these records, online companies can then easily carry out the desired modifications and provide user-friendly tools, all of which will ultimately help the company to convert more of the casual visits into actual sales.

Increasing sales is necessary, especially for commercial websites because it is the only way they can hope to stay afloat in today’s highly competitive online market. Increased sales translates into increased profits, which can then be used by the company to expand its operations by increasing the number of products or services being offered on a website.

Based on all the above stated facts, it can easily be inferred that just like in any other sector, Six Sigma has become quite inseparable in the area of web marketing. In addition, since it is quite certain that online trade volumes will continue to rise, it will not be wrong to assume that use of Six Sigma in the field of web marketing and allied sectors will continue to witness an increasing trend, year after year.

Five Ways to Reach For the Stars on Satellite Internet

Posted by hanun | Uncategorized | Wednesday 26 August 2009 6:44 am

One of the most distinctive hallmarks of the modern era is the new type of celebrity we’ve seen come to the fore.  Today we have celebrities of the mundane, the people who have become famous for being themselves.  It could be the family of a well-known personality, someone famous just for being rich, or someone who has an obsession with a celebrity.  Andy Warhol’s “fifteen minutes of fame” have certainly become a reality in the Age of the Internet.  In some ways the trend is an opportunity as well as an irregularity.  Following that logic, here are five ways you can use satellite internet to boost your own fame and maybe, one day, break on through.

1. MySpace.  If you’re familiar with the MTV reality show “Shot at Love,” you may have asked yourself: Who is Tila Tequila?  She carried herself as someone well known to the world and was closely followed by contestants who hoped to win her love.  It turns out she was the self-proclaimed Queen of MySpace, the social networking website where she had more fans than any other user.  Can you be famous for registering on a website?  It’s unlikely, but she made it happen.  Use your satellite broadband connection and see how.

2. Blogging.  The so-call blogosphere has seen the rise of many who have come to satellite internet with a point to make and gained fame in the process.  Think of it as the modern radio show a la Don Imus or Howard Stern, without the need to be controversial.  Of course, controversy is key to readers online.  If you have a bone to pick and a way with words, starting a blog could be the gateway to success.

3. YouTube.  The innovation which allowed users to post videos online has taken the world by storm and has had its share of celebrity launches.  Take “Obama Girl,” for example.  Someone who merely supported a presidential candidate (and backed it up with beauty) became the star of YouTube videos, making headlines on all the big news portals and attracting millions of hits.  Score one for “grass roots” politics.

4. Writing contests.  For the writers out there, hiding behind laptops and ancient typewriters, stardom may be awaiting you, too.  Use your satellite broadband connection to discover the writing contests that could launch your career.  Many publications accept online submissions, making the famed rejection letter a little easier to handle.

5. Your own Website.  Why share your fame with an established site?  If you’re the one attracting attention with an acting, music, film or political career, you’re in your own business.  It’s time to get up and running with the best website you can afford.  It’s like meeting someone face-to-face in 2009, with several thousand carefully-edited words to back up your persona.  Browsing around satellite internet, you can see the difference between a winning site and a snoozer.  Make sure you come out in the former category.

There are more ways than ever to hit the big time in 2009.  Make sure your internet connection can out-perform the competition.  Find out today how a hughes internet package will bring the most opportunities online.  With blinding speed and easy downloads, a hughes internet satellite connection can help your career go places.

Internet Marketing New Generation Vs. Old School

Posted by hanun | Uncategorized | Wednesday 26 August 2009 4:47 am

Here are some of the latest and most popular Internet Marketing techniques I’m seeing for today’s ever growing Internet Marketing scene:

1. Social Networks – Facebook, MySpace, Yuwie, etc.

2. Micro Blogging – Twitter, Jaiku, Tumblr

3. Social Bookmarking – Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, etc.

4. Article Marketing – Submitting to Article Directories, including EzineArticles, GoArticles, Article Rich, etc.

5. Videos – YouTube, MySpace

6. Pay Per Click Advertising – Google Adwords, Bidvertiser, TextAds, etc.

7. SEO – Page Ranking, Backlinks and so on.

8. Web 2.0 – More interactive websites which includes other forms of communication besides typed words – i.e videos, social widgets, social networking, etc.

9. Niche Marketing – Targetting specific demographics instead of mainstream

10. Contextual Ads – Inline text ads throughout web content

11. Membership Sites – Lots of Free Ones around with endless sales pages when you log in.

12. PLR Content – Articles anyone can edit and use however they like whether to include in their websites, blog or submit in article sites.

13. Google – It’s become such a household name, hardly anyone ever says “I’ll look it up on the search engines”… No, we’d say “I’ll Google it”.

Here are some old school Internet Marketing I know of – some are still being used and may even be effective but some are useless now as far as I know:

1. Safelists and Email Blasters – Advertising to thousands of emails at once – may or may not be opt-in.

2. Opt-In Lists – Still being applied only now there are more benefits for the subscribers like a lot of Free Info Products (which are mostly outdated but repackaged well enough to make it look new).

3. Made for Adsense Websites – Trashy content rich, made for Adsense websites which are still being sold around the web.

4. Classified Ads – Craigslist is doing well but there are a lot around that aren’t as effective and probably never was.

5. FFA – Free For All Link Sites. I remember everyone have to have one and even better if you’re the owner of a FFA network.

6. Viral Ebooks – Still around and still effective in a way.

7. Search Engine Blasters – Blast to thousands of Search Engines that hardly anyone went to.

8. SEO – meta tags, black hat, white hat, top hat… actually, not sure about top hat ;)

9. Yahoo! – Who would have thought Yahoo! would be overtaken, not by AltaVista either. Yahoo is still popular but I remember when Marketers focused on getting on the #1 page of Yahoo instead of Google.

10. Newsletter Ads – Buying spaces in newsletters was very popular, I remember… maybe it still is. Not sure as I don’t subscribe to them as much as I did then.

11. Banner Ads – Swapping banner ads, etc. Then it was discovered people responded more to text ads.

12. Affiliate Programs – still is the way to free advertising for product and service owners.

13. Traffic Exchanges – It’s still around and still growing.

14. Traffic Bars – There’s still some around like InstantBuzz but it’s more like a traffic exchange than getting paid to surf.

Today’s Internet Marketing methods are getting more into the Social side of things whereas years ago, people can just remain anonymous or more private. Now, people are more inclined to expose themselves and even tell us what they just had for breakfast via Twitter or talk themselves up on videos. I guess you can still have a certain anonimity by hiding behind a persona like Mr. X or the Rich Jerk or even pretend people who claim that some Get Rich program made them wealthy beyond belief. Either way, it will be interesting to see how Internet Marketing evolves a few years from now.
